Switzerland is prominent as the hometown of outstanding tennis players like Roger Federer and Martina Hingis. But, unknown to many, Switzerland has another gem in the person of another gifted|brilliant tennis star, Patty Schnyder. Patty, who started her professional career in 1993, is at present ranked number eight in the women's category.

She has been suffering from injuries lately and these injuries are influencing her game during the competition. Just recently, she lost a semifinal match against the beautiful Russian Maria Sharapova that could have given her a possibility to play in the finals. However, her career does not end here because she is still young and durable to play competitive tennis. She still has the possibility to play more games in her career and feasibly capture the number one position.

I am hoping that Patty can accomplish this aspiration considering that she's also talented and great. Players like her, who are very hardworking and patient, need to be recompensed with championships and admiration. I know her family, chums, and admirers are praying and hoping that someday she can win a grandslam to complete her successful tennis career. Who knows, she might also do again what Martina Hingis has accomplished when the right time comes.
