How can I change that "Newbie" right under my avatar?

My Controls > Edit Profile Information > Custom Member Title

It's possible that you need to be in the Advanced Members group to have the option to change it (that happens at 50 posts).

I guess I will wait till I hit 50 posts...

No, advanced member is 100 posts iirc, but the option appears at 50 iirc.

This seems like a good time to point out, that it's really just a title on the forums. Having fewer but higher quality posts will definitely earn you more respect around here then a better member group title will.

You can go to "My Controls" and change it to something else.
