But then people wouldhave to click a link to see what they want it's nice to see it all on th mainpage by just typing in www.flexbeta.net
Or you could give eery news entry a category BUT the user gets to specify in their preferences or somewhere which news they get to see on the main page. People who haven't registered just see all the news regardless of category, then you could say somewhere on the page "Want to see news specific to a category? Register and you get to do so" Or however you want to phrase that. But imo it's a tad bit too much. The simpler it is the easier it is.

For user submitted news I think it should all go to a queue where no one sees it except mods, admins, and news posters who then approve it for the homepage.
Agreed.

That's a good spin on the idea, I fourth that!

Oh and that poll, its been abandoned, its been there since I first eer loaded this website in my life time (Over a year now) I reckon there should be a weekly poll not only to do with other stuff, but also things about the site. This way everyone gets to contribute their vote.

The only thing I can think of that would improve the site is to let people submit some news without you guys always removing it several hours afterwards. I have submitted many news posts the 'Correct' way and given 'Correct' references but for some odd reason, I check back after a couple of hours only to find Admin has removed it. I post on your site because I have full support for Flexbeta.net.

I agree submit news needs revision
The old process of so many votes puts it onto the front page was a good idea but didn't work too well, it just opened the door to spammers
Instead I think a system where submitted news is only seen by mods to post at their discresion, i.e. to help them out with finding and writing news posts
Plus I think more people could contribute to posting news, or at least links to news to make sure theres a fresh supply of news on the front page all the time!
Also news archives (last day or so) could work well in a column on one side with just the headings, for people to quick find news

Not all the time sorry. I have posted news that I have sourced myself that couldn't possibly have been submitted before.
