Yeah, right. Really loving all the "bountiful" pics.... really gives me something to look forward to going through the posts.
Actually, I would have to agree that the quality is very good, quig. But the scenery's gettin' a bit monotonous! Don't you have anything else ? (Something from a Chippendales calendar comes to mind)

Alright, back to topic. I got that popup while surfing some website cant remember was at school so cant check history. They are getting more and more creative in creating these pop-ups, it had me fooled for like 5 seconds, till i put the mouse over it and saw it was a link. What will be next, will we see pop ups of the logout window of XP?

Oh, so it wasn't a real command line dialog box? just a picture of one huh? pfhhf, boy they are going to great lengths to get people suckered in, and the sad part is that any average user who just surfs the net would be worried about that kind of thing and would probably click on it, getting suckered right in.

Yup.
I just introduced my dad to computers and the internet. He's hooked on ebay man, i tell ya. And he keeps calling me like every 10 minutes telling me something about critical security and stuff, he sees the popups and doesnt know what they are, he thinks they are the OS telling him there is something wrong. I keep telling him that those are ads, and he says, how am I supposed to know. And its true too. I especially hate the pop-ups that ressemble an actual Window, and they have the X on the upper right hand side, so you go to click the X thinking it would close the window, but actually it is part of the pop-up.

just like my parents... if the pop up seems like something related to them, like "YOU WON A FREE TRIP TO FLORIDA" they click on it.... im like ITS FAKE.. but they don't listen.. just have to find out for themselves

That's what I am concerned about also. I think of my mom who just barely knows enough about computers to log onto her email and do some basic browsing. She gets totally freaked by anything that says she might have a virus or a security risk. She's using a dial up at home and yesterday she said she got something to pop up about being behind a firewall! Why do these ads have to be so devious? Just make a good product and then advertise it fairly. If it's good, people will buy it.
