Ok lads, I was havin' a discussion with some mates at college today, Dont even ask how we got onto the subject but what do you call the "Remote" to your television in your house? My personal answer was just the simple "Remote", but i got answers like:
- The Cliker
- The Flicker
- The Box
- The Controller
Could believe all these stupid things people were telling me lol
Glad to hear what you think!

I call it "The 'Mote"

Only when I get angry do I use the term "Where is the f**king remote control?!"

When I lived back home, my dad always called it the "troller." I'm pretty sure I usually say "remote," but I rarely watch TV.

Usually "the power" as in "who's got the power", because the person who has the remote has the power to let us watch things we don't wanna see
Also, when there's nothing on TV, the TV is "empty" and when we're expecting a good movie, our tv is "expecting"

The changer. All it is ever used for is changing the channel. Our TV almost never turns off.

I call it "The Clicker" all the way. That being said, I rarely watch TV - only at other people's houses.

Remote or sometimes remote control. Sphere, when's your tv due. lol jk. But I don't usae the remote much. Reasons being I turn it on at the channel I was last watching and that's the one I want to watch. Or else I just use it for playing video games.

mine's known simply as a remote. one buddy of mine doesn't grasp the concept of universal remotes, so if i'm at his place and he says "pass me the remote", i always respond with "which one, and where the hell is it?"

To be honest im quite sane and dont call my remote control anything. I just pick it up!
Although if I need to name it I'll call him Trevor.

Lol! I say the following line very often when my girlfriend's at my place... "Where is it? You're sitting on the damn thing again arent you?"
So yes... "damn thing" or "it" seem like the most commonly used terms at my place hehe.
