People are happy when they get a free hosting but why do not want to put a banner on their sites?

People are greedy, they hate ads, but expect us to just pay server bills. What a sad case

I wouldn't really mind ads if there were good features e.g. high badnwith and disk space. But my mate got tired of this sorta thing so he's running a server on his linux os. It's good cos not only are there no ads there's also no limits.

Well, there is kind of a limit, unless he has an OC43 connection or something. But for general purposes, 1.5 Mbps upspeed works fine for a personal server.

I'd like to be able to host my site on my own server, but my cable connection just wouldn't cut it.

With free hosting there is always i downside. Weither it be slow conenction or ads. Personnaly ill take the ads. I run a web server at my house that is simple and uses mainly just for spreading files in info to freinds. But for my main site i pay for hosting. Put up Google Adsense. And it all evens out. I make just enough from teh ads to pay the hosting. So it all works out good for me.

I think most net connections are made like that to prevent website hosting like in the UK the max is 256kbs up on ADSL(most common here) I am not sure of the cable limits but I would think they would be similar.

But hosting in the UK is only a few £'s a month these days.

i get free cpanel hosting without ads or post to host with all the extras 4gb bandwith because i can .How to pay for it is not my problem

i earned my hosting by designing the company's homepage! lol... yay for unlimited space for free!
