Full Version: Peer evaluation of SkunkHardcore/3
Flexbeta > General > General > Things in General
QuantumRand()
I'm sorry it has come down to this, but the forums are becoming a complete mess. A new member, Skunkhardcore (or Skunkhardcor3 on his second account) is contributing to the forums in a non-productive manor.

I'd like to start somewhat of a peer evaluation for Skunk, not only to warn him that he is on thin ice, but also to inform him of what we expect from our fellow Flexies.

Please give your thoughts on the subject, but also try not to Flame or be entirely negative.

Good Luck Skunk.

Don't know what to reply yet, except, I agree

I'll get things started. I thought Skunk started off great. He posed a nice little question about Windows Vista and whether or not it would work with his system. That thread went very well with the exception that he used two accounts and briefly snapped at a member for seeking simular advice.

From there, it pretty much went downhill. The Recent Topics list is cluttered with threads from over a year ago with only added information like "Downloading..." and "Me too." Those aren't exactly reasons to resurect a dead topic.

If Skunk can get back to contributing like he did with his first topic (asking relavent questions and giving relavent answers) I'm sure we'll all find room for him here on Flexbeta.

I agree, Also i think that he has another account that was banned. The name of teh account was "Evil Sin". I can not confirm this but they had the same links in there sig at one time. If a mod cares they can check IP logs and confirm or deny this.

I love when new people join Flexbeta and contribute, but Skunk hasn't contributed at all. Skunk, we'd love you to be a contributing member of Flex as I mentioned in another thread, but the way you're acting now breaks many of the written forum rules and it's not acceptable. I also agree with Paleck someone should check the "Evil Sin" info against Skunk's, I've thought they were the same person for a while too, although I could be wrong. My vote right now would be to warn him again and then ban all known names if he doesn't correct his behavior. I know the staff is busy right now but maybe once they name some new moderators they'll have some time free up to get things back on track here.

Just so you know, first of, I don't have any power over it...

But I agree, it started off okay, but didn't stay that level...
Tobb555
I remember clicking one of the links in his sig and it said evil-sin.com or something like that. I wish i could remember why he was banned the first time for. Plus having two accounts is a no no anyways.
Wheelie
I have to agree with everyone else, he is becoming a nuisance on here and for me it was the thread about the laptop was the nail in the coffin for him I get the impression he doesn't want to listen to anyone sad.gif

But for real, I don't think his place/performance is for public discussion.
If he's doing things against the rules or blatatantly breaking them, there are ways to deal with them. If you have issues with him you should PM him first, or PM a mod to speak to him.

I don't agree with public displays like this. No need for a thread on someone elses misgivings....

That's what I think. Though I haven't really had experience withhim. A thread? C'mon guys

I sent BSOD a PM a while ago about him having multiple accounts, didn't receive a response. I'm all for letting our Mods/Staff take care of issues but lately they've been pretty silent, many haven't even posted in a while, we're really just trying to draw some attention to the issue.

I have to agree with neoprimal here, the rules are here for a reason, if he is not breaking them then it is really up to the mods to take it up with him. If the mod's arn't around / are too busy, then perhaps he should be contacted by a member. Either way, a public "witch burning" is not really the right way to go; it's a lot harder to explain yourself to a group of annoyed people, than it is to one in a PM.

However, I also agree with QuantumRand() that skunkhardcore hasn't contributed to the forums in a positive manner at all, and I hardly expect skunkhardcore to come up with a reasonable explanation for himself.

So a mod should step in, and I believe that this display should be put off until "WE HAVE TO TAKE THE LAW INTO OUR OWN HANDS!" laugh.gif

I dont see something wrong with pears talking about someone as long as its not a flame. If i was being a douche i would want someone to tell me. But if say the mods/admins where doing this i wouldnt think its a good think because in the end they have the final say but just talking about the wellbeing of something and pointing out what you think is wrong in a constructive manner is ok. (at least i think so)

I agree on that, but I also agree with the others that he is not being very productive (on the other hand: who am I to be the judge of that? I only post in the non-serious topics and havent been very active lately...)

Anyhow, he deserves a second chance as he is very eager to become an active, productive member.

I totally agree. There was absolutely no need to start a public discussion about this. If the member is a problem, let the mods handle it. Don't make up a "let's warn him" thread. I think that's a bit immature. Let those in power that can handle it take care of it.

There is a button under every post to report the post. This is sent to all mods and admins via IM. Lets try using it. smile.gif

Hey Skunk, I hope this doesnt seem too harsh. I doubt any of us want you to leave, and the point of this thread was to help you out. Unfortunately it kinda dove real quickly into the negative.

Anyways, if you haven't already, read over the rules a couple times. They're really short, takes but a minute to read 'em. Also, keep in mind that when no one has posted in a topic for while, there's no point in posting in it unless you have something valid to discuss in it. For example, say your "Will Vista run on this..." thread has been dead for a week, and you post something like "Vista is cool," that would be a non-productive post. But if you posted say: "New system: 700 MHz, 256 RAM...will Vista run on that?" it would be prefectly legitimate to ressurect the thread.

Then there's the multiple accounts. If you just choose one and stick with it from now on, I dont think anyone will have a problem with it. Better yet, you can delete the one you dont want.

Really, other than your recent flurry of ressurection and the multi-account issue, you've been doing pretty well in the forums.

Don't get me wrong, god knows I understand your frustration. smile.gif

@Skunkhardcor3, If you are constantly going to reply with one word answers. Then maybe you should think before you post. Also, please read The Rules and Regulations. Before making any more posts. Thank you.

You need to pick 1 accoutn and use it. And stop useing both accounts.

You can request a new password for your old account, or only use your new account. Either way, it's easier and less rule-breaking

Ok you made a second account because you forgot the password to the first. Now you're posting form both accounts meaning you know the pass. Why not delete/abandon one of them. No insult intended

sorry for not catching this sooner ...guys unfortunately peer review and discussion of a members activity is not necessary here. If theres a problem the mods will handle it accordingly.
