Ok, I thuroughly read the rules, and I did not see anything forbidding this type of request, but I'll understand if it needs to be closed.

Anyways, here's what going on. As many of you know, I'm involved with a small software group. We're very small, but growing, and our next task is to acquire a website. The problem is though, that our group, being as small as it is, will have trouble producing the revenue needed to start a website. We really dont need much, and in fact we could eventually fund it ourselves, but through the help of a few others, we can get things started a lot quicker.

So basically, the bottom line is a request for small donations to pay for host and domain fees, or if someone knows an alternate solution, we'd be happy to hear about it.

Thanks!

do you need hosting or someone to design the site? if its hosting, try 1and1.com (if you use the link in my sig, i'll get paid for referring you biggrin.gif). they have hosting as low as $5/month and you get a lot for your money. $5 is hardly anything. if you need someone to design/code a site, PM me. i can do it for a somewhat cheap but fair price.

Thats pretty cheap and all, but we've calculated that we'll most likely need more bandwidth than the 25GB per month that they provide. So far, we've found startlogic.com's Prologic service to be the best for us. It's 7.50 per month for 5 gigs of space and 100BG of bandwidth, plus we're certain it has support for all that we have planned. Basically, we'd rather bot operate at a loss while we're getting started, but if we have to, we will.

y not use Canaca only 4 bucks a month and 10gb space and 200GB bandwith

You could also try some mirrorring, I wouldn't mind mirroring some of your files if needed, though I have a 2GB data limit a month....
