I joined that exchange program thingy and saw that all I pay for is shipping and handling right? Fine - that's all well and good. The charge is $12.50c, I guess I'm the idiot because I'm thinking, alright! for 12 bux they're gonna send it 2 day shipping dribble.gif The first sadistic thing they did was they sent me a tracking number from about the 18th of August, saying my product was in the warehouse preparing to be shipped through DHL....WEEEE! mf_w00t2.gif I'm thinking.
I must have checked 2 or 3 times daily for 2 days or so days before I realize, DHL numbers don't start with 1Z, UPS numbers do, in any case, I get 'invalid' number with both couriers. headhurts.gif 'That's strange' I think. I write back and I say, that tracking number doesnt work to which the response is 'mistake on our part, UPS is the courier'. OK, fine....check UPS again and again, invalid number. At this point I'm thinking, 'wtf is goin' on?' sigh.gif - I write again to which the response is 'the shipment is in the warehouse, ready to be shipped'.....ugh! sigh.gif Why the hell won't they ship it if it's been ready for a week?! is what I'm dying to know. Anyway, FINALLY, on Aug. 31 - they ship it huh.gif

UPS - GROUND - 7 days! wacko.gif shocking.gif realmad.gif sigh.gif

Who the hell here has ever paid UPS 7 day ground $12 to ship an item that's way way under 1lb? realmad.gif realmad.gif I've used UPS ground, and it's like $4-5 nono1.gif I'm not cheap - honestly, it's just the principle of it. On the upnote, I AM getting XP64 for about $6.50...LOL cool2.gif

I just ordered a 24 lb package from California, and I was actually impressed with UPS's speed. It took four days to get to Victoria, BC in Canada - and was delivered to my door on the fifth day. (50$ to ship) However, the sender put the wrong value on the invoice, and I got hit with 100$ duty charge when it got to my door. As the item only cost a 100$ in the first place, there was no way I was going to pay 100% of the item's value to the customs, NO WAY. So I refuesed it like a week ago, and told the seller to fix the invoice price with UPS - And he did. But I'm still waiting for the package....

Try living in Alaska and ordering from US companies. Even if they offer free ground shipping - you don't get it in Alaska, so you have to pay for 2-day or next-day shipping. At least you get the option to save some $$ and ship via ground.

Heh, about 90% of the major canadian online retailers have their headquarters within an hour of me, so I get my shipments next day regardless of what I use smile.gif
