This starting popping up today out of the blue....the only thing that I've put on my PC since yesterday is Google Desktop V.2 with the Sidebar. What you see is what the error is - it's an error message, but doesnt tell me me what program is generating it or where at all it's coming from. I've never seen it before, on any machine I have or have ever worked on. I've run virus and spyware scans and found nada. I've also tried shutting down all my programs (that can be shut down and it still comes up). It comes up randomly, after about 5-10 minutes and is REALLY annoying me now.

I've had that happen a few times as well, except I'm running an Intel chip. Basically this error occurs when the processor throws an exception, usually due to poor programming and use of the processor's registers. Don't worry about it, the best thing to do is reboot at the next opportunity and move on.

I wish I could move on. And I would if it wasn't coming up every 10 minutes or so. If I close it and go to the bathroom or get a snack, it's back by the time I come back. So, no idea what program could be causing it?
I went ahead and hit the submit report button. For all I know that file has all my licenses in it - I pray it's not the case. Anyway, I monitored the email sent, seemed to be sent to user@aspack.com
I went to a website called aspack software and indeed, their email addresses end in aspack.com. I'm guessing I having something installed either from them or by a program which is using their code somehow? I'm going to write them directly and see.
UPDATE:
Upon reading more on the aspack tools. I think it's software embedded in something else I have installed. No idea what....
Response to Meow:
Hey. Yeah I did. It's not like it's a program doing it, that's the problem. It's untraceable in that aspect. But as I put in the update, it seems to be a program embedded in Avast! All my investigations lead to Avast, which is fine....I was getting paranoid that someone snuck into my PC (I forgot that I DMZed the connection for a quicker download earlier, first time the message came up was while my router was DMZed, so it had my paranoia kicking)
After all my investigations, it seems to be Avast. Aspack is an unpacker/file checker etc. From Aspack software there's also some kind of registration/serial number checker software as well as software which 'troubleshoots', or helps developers troubleshoot programs. I surfed on over to Avast's site and did a search for aspack and low and behold, they do indeed have it in their software albeit for the unpacker at least. I suspect they use aspack software for more than just the unpacker and file checker (aspack is used to allow avast to scan inside compressed files). I went through my Avast logs and there's been no complaints today, well, yesterday. However, I noticed that Avast had database update. I'm guessing this is what's causing the issue.
At this point I'm not sure whether to grin and bear it (I REALLY like avast), or to remove it. The every 10 or so minute thing just doesnt work for me though.

Have you tried looking at your taskmanager when this error comes up and see what program is causing it or what the file extention it's coming from (I realise you said you couldnt find the program that was causing the error, but I don't know if you checked the task manager, that's why I'm saying this

?
I know you've probably already tried that but it's worth a shot, find the actuall file and simply delete it and see what happens

then format your computer, to avoid any chances of virus/spyware
that will work most of the time
there will be a rare instance where its a non-removalable , service kijack-ing virus, that re-installs itself on every reformat
but most likely, its instability in the computer somewhere

It's nothing as sinister as that. Thank Goodness. As I said before it was indeed Avast. Errors must have ocurred within Avast, so those messages kept coming up. A restart didn't fix it - I had to submit report. After I did that the messages went away. Everything's OK now. I'm going to write to Avast about their error reporting service. It's all cryptic - they should at least inform the user that it's an Avast error.
