Full Version: Where does the money go after? (Music Industry)

I just realized I had most things down to a point and now I'd love to know where the money that comes in from CD and MP3 sales go to after everyone's paid off?

I know MANY have to get paid, and I know it's got to be shi^&$ds of money - but eventually EVERYONE involved in everything with making an album has to have gotten paid off. Where does the money go to afterwards? I know the artist and the song writers are paid royalties (meaning they keep getting paid a nasty lil' number like maybe 10c per song), but I know not everyone involved gets royalties....so where does the REST of the money go?

Lets put it in this light....If it's gonna take CD sales of 1 million units to break even (get everyone paid up for their time working on the album), then what happens when 10 million sells over, 2 years?

It probably goes to laywers so the record industry can develop new ways to sue consumers and charge us for music.

LOL

Seriously. I was buying CDs for like what? 14-18 bux in 1994 or so. At that time, there was really noone to sue....so ... even if that WERE a hard fact. Where does all the money go to after the royalties and solid labor are paid off?

Hmmm.
