Anybody try Dashboard yet? It's a mock of Longhorn's sidebar (Which nobody seems to like anyway, but me). It's a definate system hog and has clock, picture show and other such sundries. I saw Object Bar over at Wincustomize for Longhorn, but it falls way short. Think I'll try to port it to DesktopX, which I can animate with the picture show, the clock will be the same too exept for the hands. Just to mention, I saw a nice jpg wallpaper pack at Wincustomize for Longhorn that's worth the having...

Yeah, I tried it a couple weeks ago and didn't like it one bit. As you said, it's too much of a hog. Got it off my system right quick.

This one is a hell of a lot better with more options, less ram footprint and it doesn't clog your system up.

Has plenty of skins already made and the auto-hide option works smoothly.

kelc, My 19' flatscreen lcd slotters your animatted .gif, its sad.....yeahh I don't like them sidebar things, nice idea, but take to much space.

Gotta say, smartbar toasts anything I've tried so far, even (ahem) Longhorn...

I must warn you that Gates visits this board from time to time to see whos been talking nauty about his software, lol. yea i think smartbar is awesome, dashboard was/is way to buggy and a huge system hogger.

ahem ahem...he must be pretty dang busy with that, I betcha I have seen 100,000 or more dissing microsoft.
I have nothing against him ...or at least himshelf at least...pretty cool guy, overcame some challenges in the beggining of his life, and just kept at it, and never gave up, locked himshelf in many diffrent dorms, working on stuff.
All literally PAYED off to...man I would like to be in his shoes for a day, just to live that type of life for a day...

agree with dashboard...seems like the whole memory issue never was cured...and more than likely the foot print it makes is cause its built with Net Framework
