I would just like to get something off my chest. Its all you firefox hippies out there and the aholes that they M$. First ill yell at the firefox jerkoffs. People flame me all the time or call me a retard for using IE and likeing windows. yes i LIKE windows. I use it promote it and like it. IE is not a perfect browser and i will never ever say that it is. But when as many people use IE as they do people will find flaws in the code. If firefox was a big as IE then there would TONS more holes found. Yes there are things that firefox has that IE doesnt, but its not the browser from god that people make it out to be. I dont have antivirus software on my PC and i run spyware searches on my PC once a week and i NEVER find over 30 things. Thats not bad. I dont have problems with IE like every jerkoff that uses firefox has. Its because im not a retard and dont install things that popup saying, "Install me and watch me stick a shampoo bottle in my a$$." Ok im done now on to you aholes that say M$. Why say that. If you are going to do that to MSFT, fine then do it to EVERY company that has a "S" in its name. because the point of a company is what, TO MAKE MONEY. There isnt a company that loses money and around very long. most of you retards that say M$, or Windoze, or something stupid like that are the retards that use firefox because your to stupid not to click the ActiveX install that installed gator on your PC.

There im done.

ppl should grow up and speak with logic rather than useless words that they know nothing about,if they have a valid reason to call you that then thats them but who knows.

Nobody said firefox is perfect and secure because it is opensource.
In fact, one big security problem in firefox is the xul interface. xul is as insecure as it gets and it will cause too many phishing and website spoofing problems.
but the advantage of firefox is that since it is opensource, more people are able to look into the code and find the security problems.
One more thing, when Microsoft stick to the 4 year old IE6 browser, people are going to look for fresh alternatives. People always want something new. people want something that they can modify.

im not saying firefox is bad i just hate it when people talk about it like its the best thing since sliced bread.

Nah, you can't beat sliced bread. tongue.gif
But seriously, MS would be more popular if they listened more to people. For example, they shouldn't have waited this long to release a new IE.
They should have released an IE6.1 in 2003 and an IE6.2 in 2004 and an IE6.5 in 2005. Unless it impacts the quality of a MS product, shorter release cycles would keep people more interested in their products.

Oh really, is that why you make posts like this without any backing up?

@tobb555, I'm know what you mean mate you can always gurantee if there is a flaw discovered in IE - some idoit(s) will come along saying "thats why I use Firefox" - "firefox is the best" - "IE sucks, firefox rules" and the one that really gets me is "Use firefox it is the safest browser".

I totally love IE and Windows, I will never switch to Firefox.

Argh finally I've been able to vent this out.

I have to say that I use both and like both for different reasons. I find that IE has a much faster startup and is more responsive and a little easier to use, but on the other hand, nothing beats tabbed browsing. The only thing that I dont like about IE is the fact that it is not W3C compliant and doesn't fully support CSS2 so some sites even though the site is completely W3C compliant, do not render correctly in IE due to the lack of support IE has for web standards.

But I have to say, if IE7 has better support for CSS2 along with tabbed browsing and PNG transparancy, I probably wont use anything else as long as it renders quickly.

As far as security goes, there will always be security problems with any browser you use. Instead of people complaining about security holes, they should use that big round thing on top of their necks and think before clicking. It's called using common sense. Most of the things that attack browsers are avoidable if common sense is used. You dont have to be a computer expert to know that you shouldn't download and install every single piece of software you come across.

And people, phishing is now one of the leading security problems on the Internet. Phishing would be none existent if people just used even just a little common sense to know that 1) Your credit card company will absolutely not lose your card information, never in a million years would that happen, and 2) If there was something that was extremely important, you would get a phone call, not an email.

Use your noggin.....

I'm one of the a$$holes that uses Firefox. It's mainly because I got tired of IE and Windows in general and wanted to try something different. I like it so far. It still has its quirks here and again, but so does every browser. Oh yeah.....M$ smile.gif

It's about the same thing with WinAmp. A lot of people use it so they find more security flaws in it than in other programs.
Personally I like Microsoft products, but you first have to change a lot of settings and tweaks and apply patches to make it more useble.

I like M$ myself for almost everything.

But I prefer Opera the browser, mostly because I like tabbed browsing. And what. Did M$ think that would just go away if they hung on to IE 6 long enough? Security is not an issue for my choice. I believe M$ does a good job of responding to issues.

And I like Media Player Classic because I want a media player with a small footprint and could care less about all the other crapola that comes with the newer versions. Now if they would just quit trying to take over and replace my Media Player Classic all the time.

i love how ms takes a month or more to address a security hole in IE but Firefox's developers get word of one in firefox its patched up within the week. Honestly MS doesnt listen to the users on the brower, if they did it would follow W3C standards, have more features that should have been there years ago. We all have our opinions on the browser preferences...accept it tobbs

To a point I can agree. But that's b/c your computer smacks a$$. But I'll tell you... on my mobile amd athlon 64 w/ a pos 4200rpm hdd, firefox DOES NOT launch as quickly as ie or opera. Hands down. Hell, I went BACK to IE, b/c I finally got sick of the horrible launch times. Yes, I know IE is native, and that's why I'm using it. Because it launches faster. Yes, IE should follow w3c standards, but that aside, I have no problems. I have no spyware, no toolbars, nothing. Better CSS and XML would be nice... but i mean seriously... if people use common sense, they don't have to worry as much. Of course going to a website for warez, and serials in IE is a bad idea over firefox, for example... but I mean, for that, I have limewire and bittorrent tongue.gif. To each his own.

Firefox is far more customizable, but it takes for ever to launch. I'm an impatient f@#$. I don't like forgetting where I was going because I had to wait. (Preloader sucks too tongue.gif)

What do u mean by errors? I get more errors in FF than I do in IE, but I guess thats because I use more sites which utilize activex
