Im gettting this error

I have 1GB of PC4000 so i know that im not running out. What does this mean ??

does this error repeat itself ?
it might be wise to run a check on the memory using memtest86 (google it)

If it happens once a while, you can ignore it.

I get these errors every so often, it's not a big deal. If you're getting them all the time I agree that running MemTest86 is a good idea.

well i get them when i play HL2 and Garrys mod. Like if i have alot of stuff on the screen it will crash the game and show that error.

Yeah I've had this error before, with IE and with Sygate, if it happens every now and then - it's no big deal, but if your getting it time after time then I would look into it.

ya i ram memtest86 and found no errors. Then i ran goldmem, used that in the past, and it still found no errors. So maybe its something wrong with windows.

Try disabling all your 'fade' options in the performance menu and see if it still happens.
Also, don't minimize WMP to your taskbar (IF you've been doing it). Likewise, if you like to 'fade' your menus and stuff, try unchecking the 'smooth fonts' options in the performance menu and leave the fade stuff ticked and see if that helps....one of them has to go though.
I used to get that error every now and again also and I tweaked the system by dumbing all that stuff down and rechecking everything - found that I had to have either the fade stuff unchecked OR the smooth edges of fonts and it's all OK. It happens on both my AM D home system and my intel lappy. I find both unnecessary, so either one was ok for me. Never happens now.

Good Luck - let me know if that helps.

i have all that extra pretty crap turned off. thats one of the first thing that i do when i install windows. but thanks guys. ill prolly just live with it cause i dont want to reinstall windows.

You could also try to re-install Internet Explorer.

if it happens when you close IE, then it is probably a network device driver issue. Try reinstalling the driver for your modem or network card or whatever network devices you have on your PC.

i have all that pretty crap turned off. I think that the problem was, i aquired Norton 2002 and ran it and it foind 23 Torjans to maybe that was the problem.

Failing that, you could try removing any 'addons' that you've installed for IE and checking your 3rd party firewall if you have one. 3rd party firewalls often have drivers installed for them.
Something IE doesn't like may be trying to stick to it. I highly doubt that it's your physical memory though.
Have you tried enabling/disabling video and bios shadowing in your bios? That's also one of the primary things you should try.
