i was watching abc Boston waiting to see SPR but it never came, just a random person saying were sorry. I was like wtfmore.gif wered it go???!!! i think that this demonizes veterains, and i come from a family filled with veterains. In the last 100 years my family has sent 5 people into harms way. inclueding my grandfather who had to see saw his best fried get shot down right in front of him on D-Day. and then just becuse some one shows her t!t on tv ABC has to demonize the millions of veterain including the ones on this site. so to night i am sory becuse ABC wont show a perfectly fine movie. oh.... its to bad for kids???!!! pah kids are having sex in the second grade!!!!!! so is war bader then sex??? you decide!!!

i think the reason why they arent gonna show it is cause theres alot of violence and foul language in it ...
OutlandishTrendz
I'm watchin it. I like the movie too.

If they can show Schindler's List on network TV, they can show Saving Private Ryan. This censorship is horseshit.
thewinwizard
That was an awesome movie, almost as good as "We were Soldiers"

I dont even know if i knew much about having sex in grade 2, have our children became alot smarter or is this the cause of all the sex in the media. blink.gif

As for this movie, it is a very realistic war movie that shows us only some of the terrible things of war. I think we should all be aloud to watch it, kids too.

They should have ever right to know what their grandfathers (maybe greatgrandfathers) had once needed to go through and how they assured our futur. sleep.gif Ive never seen the whole movie, its not that i dont wanna, just havent had the time, Im sure the reason they didnt play the movie is not related to the contents of the movie. If they can play Porno movies late at night on most tv stations or movie networks then why cant they play a war movie. wacko.gif
shadowgate929
they didnt show it here either... (cleveland)

makes you wonder who thinks up the sh!t?

Irrelevant. The point is, it's the job of parents to decide what their kids can and can't watch. It is not the job of government to issue blanket decrees as to what can be broadcast over public airwaves.
shadowgate929
what ever happend to freedom of speech?
if you think its inappropriate to watch,
then DON'T F---ING WATCH IT!

maybe those people that dont want to
watch it or have it taken off the air should
read a book?
BlueScreenOfDeath
our kids are already messed up as it is ..either cause they let them do what they want our the government seems to think spanking your kid is abuse ... whatever ...my kids mess up ur damn right im gonna whip that a$$ ...but they wont do it i again i bet u that ...i was raised the same way and nothing wrong with me , im not emotionally scared or nothin
OutlandishTrendz
Some people are afraid to see what really happened, they would rather read it in a book.
victoru
i just saw it on the news that some stations in watever state dont want to airl pvt ryan in fear of fines from the fcc because of the language. But the stations in newark,nj dont seem to care

i saw it. it was from 8-11 on thursday i believe.
Linoman
Living in South Africa we have cable and satelite (might I just add both are terrible) and they don't care what movies they show.

Although the broadcasters here can be really stupid for example during a commercial break in a kids tv show they advertise something like
Condoms or Womens pads.

WTF 3 year olds would be watching those shows and they advertise that stuff. What a messed up world.
