Love the ObjectDock! Just got beta 2, no problems so far, sometimes beta 1 would crash when closing a program, but that seems to have been fixed. Anybody else tried the ObjectDock toolbar?

Dont know what ydock is. ObjectDock is an exact replica of the Mac OS X dock bar with all the cool icons! It even animates just like the mac! Really cool but for Windows!

ok, I visited that link Kelpfries showed and that enlightened me a lot! Cool, now I only have to study how to use these applications without stealing the resources too much.

Desktop X is a complete skin changer, i never liked it because it takes away some functional aspects of the normal desktop. It replaces the task bar, replaces the desktop with a sort of layer with animations and stuff.
Icon Packager, replaces all the system icons with icons that you download.
Object Bar can either replace your taskbar or gives you the ability to install other taskbars.
Frontier, no idea!
Web Blinds is a sister to the Window Blinds. Web Blinds skins IE
Window Blinds skins the GUI
WindowFX allows for shadows and window animations
WinStyles is kinda like putting a new skin on the XP GUI only it layers instead of replaces unlike things that getskinned.org has which is an actual replacment for Luna

The best way to skin the GUI is to use the hacked uxtheme file to replace the original. You can then use any visual style designed for Style XP to skin Windows without installing Style XP! ....Cool,eh?

You can go to
http://www.wincustomize.com and check out the skins I've done for Stardock stuff. As far as Object Dock, I like using Desktop X or Object Bar, as they're much more versitile and powerful (with cool animations and plugins).

I've used Object Bar to get an animated docking bar, and also tried the yDock, i've got to say, so far, i've found the ObjectDock is the best. Object Bar docking bars tend to be a bit clunky, and dont always work very well. I found yDock to be very jumpy, not smooth, and i have a pretty good machine with a lot of extra memory and a nice video card, but its really, really jumpy. If it wasn't for that, the yDock would be a very nice dock bar. The ObjectDock still has its problems, it crashes once in while, but the animation is extremely smooth, and it doesn't jump. Its still in beta, so hopefully they will take care of the bugs.

Now Object Bar can be configued to be a simple hidden main with subs, just right click the desktop, which is probably my favorite.

The WindowFX caused some applications to crawl as it was running all time and I was too lazy to configure "do this, except...".

I've been using themes from www.Belchfire.net with a patched uxtheme... I never find anything useful from wincustomize.

I've got light on my desktop now

Hey Kelp, have you tried Winstep's WorkShelf? Their NextStart is awkward, but WorkShelf can be configured as hidden with all you want within easwy, instant reach...

I am registered owner of Object Desktop where you are then able to use Stardock Central to download everything that goes with it. According to their site ObjectDock 0.95 is released and available. Where did you see beta 2???
