Anyone charitable enough to send me a stick of 256/512MB SDRAM? I need a memory boost......no?.......shame
As a side point, are many of you still using SDRAM or have you moved on to DDR1/2?

I think most people here are now using DDR .. of course, unless they have an oldish computer.
I still deal with both, and DDR is so much cheaper than SDRAM.. a 512 stick is absolutely expensive..

I'm just using SDRAM still because I haven't got enough money to replace the RAM I've got with DDR, hence the post

LOL..

Unfortunately.. I'm using SDRAM!! Yess I know!!

256MB PC100 SDRAM!! LMAO!

I've got the same, except I've got another 128MB SDRAM!

Now my graphics card.....that has 256MB DDR2 (it's a Geforce fx 5950 Ultra)

If I did have any, why would I give it to you for free?

i hope u know Dark that ur gonna need a cpu and mobo that support DDR ...u cant jus throw away ur SDRAM and put DDR in ur board.... i dont see why u got an awesome gfx card like a 5950 runnin only 128 mb of SDRAM ...

I wld like to share Ur RAM (if free !

)
I ahave 256 DDR

I do have a mobo that supports DDR, and I've got 256MB + 128MB SDRAM, would have more but I spent the money on the graphics card lol
Could do with a mobo upgrade too though, it's only 4x AGP, is there actually much difference between 4x and 8x?

I've heard, "There is no noticeable difference between 4x and 8x", now how that's possible?
Don't ask me..
Spy Boy

I think 8x cards cann't be used on 4x AGP
But not so much diff , now most of latest mobos r with 8x only
BlueScreenOfDeath
Oct 14 2004, 07:41 PM
8x is backwards compatible ... u can use 4x cards in it but they will only run @ 4x ...u can use 8x in 4x slots and they will only run @4 ...its still the same AGP slot jus a bigger bandwidth channel

I had some SDRAM a few months ago, but I tossed it. I run RDRAM in my current PC. I would love to buy more RDRAM but, Rambus is so darn expensive. It will cost me well over $200 for two 256MB sticks. Since you have to run RDRAM in pairs.

It's a shame things cost so much (i.e. anything at all) lol

I'm prepared to swap for a 500MB hard drive
How about 2? Hell I've got quite a few of them here

So, you wanna swap RAM for hdd's? What name brand are the hdd's? Are they new or used?

I'd love to lay my eyes on new 500mb hard drives.
I'll look around for ya man....I can't promise anything cuz' I toss stuff like that the second I don't have hardware to use it on. I have a lil' Dell here that uses em' but it's on 2 128 sticks, chances are if I find more 128 sticks I'll be able to throw em' to you.
I'll let you know by Sunday - just, remind me.
I'm running a gig of DDR3200 atm.
