well there was some big arguments and one of the admins started making changes and people started rebelling ... a few weeks ago .... it kinda got worse and worse and the admin in question said he was gonna leave .. yet more uproar.... the board was up and down like a yoyo over the few days that followed that and was eventually restored to a previous point. then people began to complain about lost posts ... BSOD came in and pretty much saved the board and put in a lot of time and effort... now its al been dumped

You guys... I don't think this is a big deal, its just another beta community that dudn't survive because of people's greed to be #1. Lets put it behind us and move on, trying to make Flexbeta the best beta community, I know why most people would've preffered MicroBeta over Flexbeta, because they offered so-called "Premium" Downloads, like if you had this many posts, you could gain access to a special download area etc... Flexbeta doesn't have that, but who needs it anyways? You want Longhorn, get it off of WinBeta's IRC or BetasIRC, or even Flexbeta's IRC (I've never been there, so I don't know if XDCC downloads are offered there). It's all the n00bs to the beta scene who want an ultra-fast and point and click HTTP server to download from, so what do they do? they go and join MicroBeta.
Anyways, my point is don't argue and waste your precious time trying to bring back an "online" and "virtual" community, if thats gonna cost you lots of money and time.
Just my 2 cents.

Everyone would like to have a HTTP source rather than an IRC bot, but when a site forces you to participate there for weeks just to let you download something, wouldn't it have been better if you had been a bit patient and stayed in queue in IRC for a couple more hours and gotten what you wanted, instead of being forced to be active in a community to get what you want.
Again, that's just my opinion, which is why I never really visited Microbeta and/or posted anything.

Why are you assuming its me?
What happened at MB would never happen here. We have a different philosophy when it comes to internal conflicts. Im not trying to knock younger people with this statement, but the admins and management for Flexbeta are older and therefore experienced in communication and have aquired excellent people skills and managerial knowledge as a result of their career experience.
It should always give cause for concern when the top guy in charge is fourteen. Now this is not to say that a fourteen year old is by any means unknowledgable, but the truth of the matter is, there is absolutely no experience there. What he did was wrong, but because there was no real world experience in dealing with people, its quite obvious that he got overly emotional and reacted without thinking. It is also quite obvious that he was intimidated. The ability to deal with these emotions and to gain the ability to interact with people without being emotional is something that can only be learned through experience in the workplace.

Amen man, not only has my own workplace helped me deal with customers and intense situations but simply being apart of the family here at flexbeta also helps u work a lot on communicating with the members here as well as working out issues should they arise within the staff. If flex loses its family centricity then we wind up like all the other sites...we fight, we leave and then we're jus another statistic in the community. But we have stayed strong for 2 yrs and will continue to stay strong 3, 4, and 10 yrs from now. Hell the way i see it these guys are like my brothers and i'll be here til im too damn old to do nething

@cokeman: dude, please, please, please work on your grammer. I have no idea what you are saying! I have nothing to do with MB. I helped them get started about a year ago but thats as far as my involvement goes. I am only a part of one site and that is the best site, Flexbeta!
@legojerry: We don't think of it like that. Actually, the past year we have seen a HUGE growth on this site. We have a lot of sister sites and we have helped out a lot of people. We don't compete. We just do our thing. We bring the news and information. We do what we can to give our members and viewers what they want including the latest tech news and outstanding articles. I have helped a lot of people and a lot of sites to start and to grow. I have no problem helping anyone. Some of the scripts that are used on Flexbeta were written by me and I have shared that information with the public. As you should be able to see, on the portal there is a news archive at the bottom of the page, a recent article list and a recent file list. You will probably be able to see those on other sites. I wrote those and shared them.
That is the main philosophy that has driven Flexbeta and that has allowed us to grow to what we are today.
