A signal recieved from space which may be from an alien civilization!

They say that the signal is 31 million years old. Humans have only been here for 8 million years, so if it was a alien civilization they will be way ahead of us!

Or the planet may not even be there anymore as it has taken 31 million years to reach us.

Im 18 & i need to know this answer before i die! I have about 50 years to find out! lol

It could be anything ... It's just a sound. A bit fast to conclud it's made by life!

I think there is a possiblity that we're not alone and in that case it's possible but bit to soon to say!

I'm a firm believer that we aren't alone. Why are we so special that in the vastness of intergalatic space, with the millions of known galaxies, that we are the only intelligent life. Just think about all the billions of different lifeforms here on Earth, and the new discoveries that are being made here in regards to new species. Are we alone? Only in our minds!!

I agree with thewin, the chances of another life form is possible. Just think of all the stars out there, there has to be one planet just like ours with just the right distance from the Sun, enough so that species can evolve. I wouldn't trust from that article though, it's tabloid so they are known for exagerating things.

yeah i agree with both win and G ... although they wouldnt be able to come here.... the amount of time it would take they would all die and they would not be able to take a shortcut thorough a 'space rift' or 'wormhole' because theres no way of determining of where they come out or if they are capible of sustaining their 'structure' while masses pass through it ..... so i think that we can forget any chances of visits soon from any extra terrestrial life form

It's not unlikely because it is scientifically possible. But I kinda doubt it.
Still if it were true, I would not sent a return signal

I agree with thewinwizard I don't think we are alone. I mean think of how many other galaxies there are. We could in actuallity be one in who knows many planets with life forms, and who knows some might be friendly and some might want war, but I say we return the signal and just monitor space for anything.

Plus I think we all should be running Seti along side Bit Torrent to help the program.

I see it like this. If chemicals in space can come together and create a whole new planet or even a new galaxy, then how hard is it for life to come together!

And when life starts, it dont seem to stop. I believe that life started when the universe started and it spreaded like the planets. And we are apart of that original begining!

And by the way, sending the signal back would be great, but also pointless. It would take 29 million years to get back to them, and our own sun only has 5 million years left. So if they did send a signal back, we no longer would be here!

And maybe them that sent the original signal no longer exists!

I believe that the government know 'about life out there' but they dont want to scare people, so they dont say anything. Look how big the univerise is...it is HUGE! and i am pretty sure that there is other life out there.
A few months ago, i was looking at this site and it had photos of mars. You could actually see structures on it and all. I bookmarked the page and went back to it later. The site had gone. I dont know if it was a hoax or wat, but the photos looked pretty real to me, so maybe the government found out and quickly got rid of the site? who knows.
I believe if aliens are out there, they dont wanna hurt us. I believe that they just want to study us, as if we found them, wouldnt we want to study them? yes.

that picture probably was bogus...we have 2 rovers on mars right now and we havent found nething cept dust and nothingness. As far as life out there...i think if there is it will take too long for communications to reach them and we'll be long gone by the time they reply back

here is a close up. i have circled the objects that look like to be bridges, but because of the age, the bridges have since fallen down..and the pole stuctures are only remaining. The full picture is must bigger then this. It is HUGE!

Mars is pretty much a dead world. But it was once alive with, water, volcanos, earth quakes or 'Mars quakes' lol.

Anyway, here is a pretty impressive photo of one side of mars, and you can see theres not much happening there!
