for overclocking use coolbits all the way, it installs directly to the nview registry. through cool bit you can pick your frequency. make sure you have heatsinks and fans though. this is one site that i found that has it. http://download.guru3d.com/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=201

It is optimized drivers for your videocard.

I'd say if you're on a budget, sell your current card on eBay for $20 or $30, then put another $20 on it yourself and get a GeForce 4 MX440 64MB, you'll see a huge performance gain without the risk of overclocking a poorly cooled GPU. wink.gif smile.gif

Well the FX5200 is very s*itty anyway, so I think if you're going to look at buying a card from NVIDIA you should look to the 6600 series wink.gif or buy a Radeon wink.gif

Keep note on when was the last time BSOD's message was posted. NVidia didn't have the 6600 back then. biggrin.gif Plus, who knows what card did cpenner89 ended up with.

Everyone puts the 5200 down.. WHY?! Its a good card! Sure, its not capable of playing Doom 3 at 1280x1024 at max graphics, bbut it plays it at 800x600 and medium graphics w/ 32 FPS avg! Dont put a card down because its not the best.. Its a great card for someone on a budget who plays games..

Personally I'd go for either a 6600 from nVidia, or a 9600 pro from ATI...
The reason that the FX5200 is disliked so much is because of its lackluster
DX9 performace, while you can get away with playing some current DX9
games on low, and older DX8 games, the card is not future proof at all.
A 9600 or 6600 will allow you to play future DX9 games, and does not cost
all that much more $.
Personally I prefer ATI's cards, but lets not get into that eh? laugh.gif

fighterace124
Yours is AGP, correct? It seems the PCI 5200's from PNY OC better than AGP ones..

Yeh I'm using one. Go to cool bits and download the registry editor program. That lets you over clock the card. Then download nvfixsfx to stablize the screen. Mine is currently run at 250 mhz core and 180 mhz memory, and everything is good.

I agree on the 6600 but, the AGP is faster ( slightly) so do not let the AGP or PCI-e bother you. If your really on a budget get a 6200. In other words only look to the newer 6xxx series of Nvidia or go with the ATI. Some really like the ATI's but, some compatibility issues will arise with ATI cards.

Dont waste you time on no fx card or a 9xxx ati, just go and buy the 100.00 and under nvidia 6200 cards. they are worth the price by far here
