If you were experiencing some very slow page loads today it is because we are being DDOS'ed. We are recieving over 900 pings at a time. We are trying to do all we can to lessen the load on the server. We do not know from where these attacks are originating. Thanx guys.

yeah well we are all on same server ryan (your site along with hackfire ect) so if one is being hit it does that (server load cpu load) so yeah not much you can do about it...

glad it has stopped for now.. hopefully it wont happen anymore.

Webmasters should not have to deal with this problem, instead they should have to worry about other things, like content. Instead we have to worry about this damn ddossing problem.

hmm, is there a way you can keep track of who visit's, and if they ping more than 5 times at once (some peeps have 56k and like to load multiple pages at once) no me though, and ban the ip temporarily if it is trying to reach an outragous number of pages at once?

Yeah our hosting company is doing all they can to stop these attacks. They have implemented something like the one you talked about.
