Hi, i just wanted to know what does exactly means 64 bits??? And what are the good of it, and how come it's just now that there's a 64 bi computer. I'm not sure but what i think is that 64 bit means that the register has 64 bit instead of 32 bits. Is that it?

hello,
64 bit computer is how it handles Programming code.....programs made for current 32bit OS (programs like current games for Windows OS's) will not work well on 64bit machines....
64 bit machines are mostly in just very high class servers because they can handle a lot more data at a time, but the code (program)has to be programed for 64bit machines......
Eventually maybe common desktops will switch to 64bit but no time soon, even though AMD and Apple both have desktop 64bit machines comming out eventually...Intel has made them forawhile with the Itanium proc...but again its servers only as its like 6,000 bucks++ for 1.
