I voted for Windows, as it is the main OS I use (to be more precise, .NET 2003 Standard Server, build 3716 - RC2 when I'll get mail from Microsoft). Other OS's on my home computer are SuSE Linux 8.1 Pro and BeOS R5.1, but now I need them very seldom. BeOS when I have to fix something inside Windows/partitions. Wife's computer is running with XP.

I use only BeOS R5.1d0 now - ditched Linux a couple of months ago.
P.S. Some people use more than one operating system, but we can vote for only one..

one of the best things to do is to run an OS, say like a linux Distro, using VMWare just to try it out before you go through all the partitioning and stuff. I think theres an emulator for MAC to run on windows, but i think it only suports MAC OS 8

I think!
im using xp corp edition, i would download longhorn but i have a 3 gig usage cap, oh well.

telstra bigpond cable, its the best broadband deal that i can get in australia, its pretty good beause they offer a download section and some game servers that when used dont add to my usage.

It is much easier to emulate a PC on a mac then a Mac on a PC with PPC chip. for 68k you can use basilisk it is available at sourceforge.net. no PPC emulation that I know of for PC. Hard to make a CISC processor emulate a RISC processor.

Thats not bad, but still limits you to using p2p prgrams right?

yeah although there was a rumour that they would allow free p2p transfers for people on using telstra broadband, they didnt go through with it cuz they thought people would exploit it by transfering illegal software/warez. Broadband has had little growth in australia becuase there are no good deals, the only decent on is the one im one now.,Oh well.

How do they limit your bw permonth. IS it done by the cable itself, or is it on there servers?
well i am not limited, its just that if i go over 3 gig then i play about $15 per 100mb that i go over and i aldready pay $85 for 3 gig. And the isp has been known to overcharge people in the past as the usage meter they provide is screwed, it doesnt give an accurate measurment of my usage so i have no idea if i go over untill i ge the bill. Since October it has been for sell on both ebay and newegg.
I voted long time ago in this poll, but I currently run Win XP Pro, MCE 05, Server 2K3 and Longhorn on this system. All of my others run XP Pro alone while there is a lone system in the house with XP Home.
