Well, I just watched the last episode of Stargate SG-1 Season 10 sad.gif It's hard when you think of it that there won't be 11th season sad.gif

I have watched all episodes since the very first episode + the original Stargate movie

Stargate SG-1 is the best show of all times. There is no doubt about it. No other show will ever replace this. My feelings for Stargate Atlantis are mixed. Stargate Atlantis does put some light in me and give me some hope but we'll see. I hope one day Stargate Atlantis will make me feel the same way about the show as Stargate SG-1. Don't get me wrong, I love Stargate Atlantis too and they shouldn't get offended. It's just that, "at the moment" it doesn't thrill me as much as SG-1.

I believe the actors of Stargate SG-1, the fact that they've been on it for such a long time, the rich story line combined with the comedy, all of that is what makes this show so good, you have the Gau'ld, the Replicators, the Ori, the Asgard, the Tokra, the Ancients and the comedy in the show etc.

With Stargate Atlantis, it just feels different. I loved the part when SG-1 visited Atlantis!

WHY DID THEY HAVE TO CANCEL IT?? WHY? It is one thing I truly looked forward to every year. I always buy the movies. I like the artwork inside the cases.

SaveStargateSG1.com seems to me down. What's up with this? sad.gif Here is what they last had on their site:

The studio is committed to producing an ongoing series of movies - as long as we, the fans, support those movies. With all the regular cast members on board and Richard Dean Anderson back as Jack O'Neill, production is already underway. DVD sales for the first two movies will be CRITICAL to ensure MGM can afford to commit to the third and fourth, the fifth and sixth movies, and more.

Some disappointment is natural: the ideal was always to secure an 11th season if at all possible. We've worked hard for that goal, explored every avenue and option. But SCI FI Channel, overseas broadcasters and now MGM itself have all spoken on this. In a pragmatic campaign, always grounded in reality, always telling it to you straight, we have to admit that Season 11 is officially off the table.

SG1 will continue in the form of a DVD movie series. Atlantis and the planned third series are the future of Stargate on television.

SG1 will continue. It has its own future. The dedication and passion of the international community of fans have made it impossible for MGM not to hear us, not to make that commitment to continuing the story of the SG1 team through the series of movies.

So there will be Stargate SG-1 movies. Well, better than nothing. I will buy every one of them and so should you -- every fan of the show out there. Support the actors, support the show, support your selves!

A true master piece and well done on the show. I hope one day, MGM will re-consider and bring back the show -- create Season 11, 12, 13, 14 etc biggrin.gif Better late than never!

Yep it sucks, wink.gif check out links in my signature...

It had it's run and was a good show. I agree in ending it now though....after usually 7 or 8 seasons the writers and even actors are just very tired. We have to think of it from the actor's PoV sometimes. Plus...eventually you get watered down shows and shows that don't end up making a whole lot of sense, even for Sci Fi. I thought the last episode was kind of nice.....a little sad, a bit creepy, lol - but nice.

Rest happy in knowing the SG Movies are in the works.

Only 4 shows exist that I wish werent cancelled...Invasion, Farscape, Surface and Enterprise, but ah well no use crying over spilled milk.

Check out Christopher Judge (Teal'c) and the rest of the crew.

Also, personally, I believe Farscape sucked, I never liked that show. Surface was good, the other two Invasion and Enterprise I haven't seen them.

Here is another link you may want to see (recommended)

It breaks my heart whenever I hear the Stargate SG-1 music but as stated, it may not really be the end after all smile.gif Watch Christopher's (Teal'c) comment in the first link.

Sorry skyliner, but regardless of what Chris Judge said in that clip, there will be no more SG1 on televsion, ie; original episodes. Amanda Tapping (Sam Carter) is now the commander of Atlantis in season 4, which starts in a few weeks dribble.gif Judge just got his story treatment greenlit for production, so now he has his own show coming out soon. All we have left are the SG1 movies now (pushed back to early 2008 release from fall 2007). Check out this site, they have a lot of info and interviews also with the cast, writers, producers, directors, etc of the entire Stargate franchise. http://gateworld.net/

By the way, did anybody see Mega Snake on SciFi the other day? I heard Micheal Shanks was starring in it.

Hot off the Press. Shanks discusses Eureka, SG-1 movies

I hope it's a Stargate spin off biggrin.gif

lojik_supreme, your post has been very informative. Thanks!

I haven't seen Atlantis Season 2 and 3 but I want to buy them on DVD in about a month time so I can catch up smile.gif
Anything good to see? Seriosly, the fact that an SG-1 member will be in the show, I am very happy!

Oh this is good!! biggrin.gif

When asked for tidbits about the upcoming SG-1 movie "The Ark of Truth", Shanks said, "We had a way bigger budget than we ever did for the series, so the action scenes will be that much better. It reintroduces our villains that we created during the last two years, and we deal with them in a very climactic way. It's a good payoff."

With Christopher Judge appearing on Stargate Atlantis in Season Four more than once, a question was posed as to whether viewers may see the character of Daniel Jackson in the Ancient city again. His response is encouraging.

"I talked to the producer, Joe Mallozzi," Shanks said. "They haven't heard about a pickup for a [fifth] season, but if they do, they're definitely interested in having Daniel visit for a bit. That's exciting for me."
