Is there a software that blocks those annoying ads that appear when you move your mouse over a link?

I think there is a setting in IE that disables this feature? Anyway, if this is not possible then is there a software that does that?

In firefox, they're blocked by adblock I think...

Yes they are!

lol but that does not solve the problem. I use IE7 and I like it.

Now I can hear you saying: Well, if you like it then suffer! biggrin.gif

Please, if anyone knows then suggest it.

If you don't mind shareware, try this: Ad Muncher.

I use IE7Pro whenever I used Internet Explorer and it seems to block most ads but not as well as Adblock.

::Edit::
Here is something you might find useful if you end up getting IE7Pro.

Thx guys hehe, well I am willing to switch to FF if I can't find a solution. It drives me crazy!

This one: http://www.ie7pro.com/ad-blocker-intellitxt.html doesn't seem to work. I followed their instructions but unfortunately nothing.

skyliner
I fixed it!! http://www.ie7pro.com/ad-blocker-intellitxt.html

I just used a wild card instead in the settings and seems like it's working!

Thanks
Punchy
Host file is your friend, depending on which rollover add it is eg, "kontera contentLink" you can add this to your host file "127.0.0.1 kona.kontera.com" without quotes, if it's the "Intellitxt" then there's quite a lot of those to add. There is so much you can do to stop nasties with the Host file.
skyliner
Yes I was thinking of the host file but as you said there are too many to add.
Unfortunately the above solution with IE7Pro does not effect Maxthon so I still get the ads with Maxthon.

I found a solution

Don't use IE biggrin.gif j/k

I think I made it work with Maxthon! I can't see any double underlined links any more. Anyone has any site where I can re-test it?

This is what I did. I downloaded the new Maxthon 1.6 release. I went to Add Hunter and I did the following.

1: I clicked "Popup Blocker" and I added *intellitxt* and *vibrantmedia.com* -- just in case....
2: The one that did it: I clicked on Content Filter and I added the same entries. Voila!

The ads are gone! (So far) -- Give me a site where I can re-assure this.

I think Flexbeta has them if your not logged in.

Ads for the portal are always displayed, only on the forums members are ad-free

I just confirmed. My solution works. I tested a site with K-Meleon and it had the ads on the page. I then went to the same site with Maxthon and no ads!! So all I had to do is add the wild cards. Of course, I wouldn't have known this without that link to the IE7pro website so thx!

Ironically, that site (a thread in a forum) was about Intellitxt too....
