I just got back from the launch event in Raleigh, NC. Couldn't stay the entire 9-5:30 everything was going to slow. But......... everyone got free versions of Server 2k3, and Visual Studio .net pro dvd... trial versions.... but I'm sure people out there know how to turn these into full versions without me mentioning

also got the free t-shirt, some mdsn merchandise, voucher for .....yes $900.00 off a msdn subscription. Windows xp tablet pc Development cd, Office 2k3 Preview cd, and alot more cool shite. Lots of prizes being given out, ex.. LCD monitors, Technet subscriptions, Video processors..... it was a nice little experience from ol m$. I should have some pics later after I get back from work.

Just got back from the launch event. Saw my buddy Kelps over there,..I left early so i think Kelps is still over there. Got my goodies bag with all the kewl stuff that mm_omega2 mentiioned, except I didnt get no T-shirt

. A couple of Companies were there showing there support for the new SQL 64 and Server 2003. Intel and AMD were amongts the top players there. AMD was showing off this really nice opteron server. I regret forgetting to take my camera so I couldnt take any snapshots, but i think Kelps got some in. Kelps, sorry I had to leave so early, it's that I had to run some errands at home and I didn't think I was gonna get there so late.

Installed Windows 2k3 now and am running it as I post. Seems to load very fast, faster than XP, the pregrams load very fast. Get this security feature from IE which is more annoying than actually protective in MPO....Even msn.com brings up this security warning.

Apr 24 2003, 10:17 PM
yeah I'm running 2003 also, its very nice (actually I'm on a XP machine right now, my server is rebooting) so yeah..it IS fast, and nice..but seriously someone should have grabbed me a "party bag" lol I want one...
I wanna go to the next release Longhorn Release anyone?
ps Kelps and G live by each other? you guys get together outside of M$ party's?
Gsurface
Apr 24 2003, 10:29 PM
Im pretty sure you could make XP that fast by removing all visual effects. 2003 comes with all but "USe Visual Styles on Windows and Buttons" enabled.

@G cant u make that warning go away by setting ur internet options>security to lower settings like xp....ie. left to right...medium>med. low>low>high?

I think you may be able to set it lower, but then that just makes browsing unsecure...and by default, the IE settings in 2003 are the same as XP's.
