Planet Size Comparison - A Must See

dn2004
I assume the last 2 are comparisons of other stars?

Its interesting though I didn't realise Mars was so small compared to the earth

Sweet!

No, they're just the biggest known stars in the universe (the sun is basically a star as well offcourse smile.gif )

Man, that is crazy. We are so freaking tiny! Please Digg this.

every day i know and think we are so small in this vast universe, but it never amazes me how small we actually are!

Are the last 2 dwarf planets or stars?

Yup. We are pretty insignificant no matter what we may think.

Me and my friend were talking about this last night. Black holes merging and super massive black holes. Fun.

No the last two are the biggest red giant stage stars we know of at this point. In comparision to the sun its huge and if our sun did that it would engulf Mercury, Venus, and Earth...Mars would be so close it'd burn up.

lol we are screwed then. forget going to mars we need to hit venus or pluto.
Red Knight
what a second. i thought it wold just engulf the first two planets or maybe our teacher is so full of it saying we would be safe at mars. lol

If our sun became a red giant..we can forget mars...the planets surface would be so unspeakably hot that it would strip away the atmostsphere. Like venus but worse. It wouldnt engulf mars but it would be about the same distance as mercury is to the sun...to close for comfort. Pluto would still be too cold because its so far away. we'd actually be better off on Eurpoa (Jupiter's Icy moon w/ liquid water under it) or Titan (Saturns moon)

hey thanks i thought my science was nutz.

now how do u think we could get there and would it take money wise

This is pretty crazy. If you stop and wonder like were are we, and whats past space. You go crazy trying to figure it out.
BlueScreenOfDeath
i try not to kill my brain thinking of such things.

Why so?

Beyond space is truly nothing. It's just non existence. If you were there then it would be space. Basically, the world is evolving from nothing to something. And that something is big.

that may be so but in a few million years from now (if we are even still here) we will have to figure out something i guess thats why its a planet size comparison

LOL

Meh, We'll probably be extinct by then. We're too good for our own good. Some new race may be taking form by then. Fire Penguins I'd say.
