Thought I should start a Q&A and basically a general thread for Windows Media Player 11.. as its now been leaked and im sure people will be getting issues and have concerns... and We dont realy want a tone of threads about WMP11 around so... Post them here.
We at flexbeta will do the best to answer them! Remember to Install QUOTE 1. Extract the file to a new folder. 2. Double click "Run First".exe to install Media Player 11 codec. 3. Double click "Run Second".exe to install Media Player 11. And Bobs your uncle its done! by the way. Download Windows Media Player 11 HERE |

Was that about 13/15mb in size? if so its includes one is codecs which is 8/9mb in size which is "Run First".exe |

After Following Directions Exactly As Written. I restarted my computer. Now when I try to start WMP 11 I get the following message, "The file wmplayer.exe has a version number of 11.0.5358.4826 where 10.0.0.3931 was expected. Windows Media Player is not installed properly and must be reinstalled. Do you want to install the player from the Microsoft Web Site?" So I clicked Yes. Then I got to the WMP 10 download site, tried to download and install said I already have a newer version of WMP. I would like WMP 11 to work, but if I can't, How do I get back to WMP 10?
I am running Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 SP2. How do I get WMP 11 started, and rid myself of this error message? |

Alright, I have confirmed that both sources of download (mine and flex download) are identical.
If anyone wants the orignal file names here they are: "Run First.exe" = "wmfdist11.exe" "Run Second.exe" = "wmp11.exe" "Run First.exe" and "wmfdist11.exe" have the same hash, so they are the same. Same appies to the other pair. -------------------- ![]() |
