xbox Ripping cd Options

ok when i insert a custom cd it says this is not a audio cd/xbox game/ or dvd dose the xbox read custom cds (the cd was black)

xbox's can't read most cd-r/cd-rw's. the xbox's dvd drive was made like this.
This is a list I have that may help you find out which CD-R/CD-RW's may work. Still it depends on your XBOX if it will work because there are now 4 different types of dvd drives that were installed in the XBOX since it came out in 2001.

i have some memorexs but there 52 x and thats waht wmp burns them at is i burn them at 12 like it says will it work or do i need the 12x top one im new to cdr types

the best disk that i got to work before i modded my xbox was verbatim. Just make sure that you burn them the slowest you can. Yes 1x is the best.

The cdrw must be exactly full.

As in an 80 minute disk must have 80 minutes of music on it.

Unless your xbox is one of the new ones you can only use cdrw and not cdr.

The new xboxes have a crappy CD-rom in them. The one that you want is the orignal samsung. The Philips is also a decent drive to have but the best is the orignal samsung

i got xbox when it came out and my cd drive in it is starting to die so i think the older ones arent as good, because my friend got a xbox a year after i did and his xbox cd drive is fine when mine scratches cds and cant read the xbox games half the time

No the orignal drives that shipped with the drives are s***. They are thompsons and there crap. Have anyone here ever of the company Thompson CD-roms. I didnt think so LoL. No the samsung/philips come later on in the life cycle of the xbox. Now the xbox comes with a newer samsung that isnt as good as the orgnal at reading cd-roms and a Hitachi-LG drive.

oic what u mean the drives that came out after i got my xbox are better the orginals are crap. i also read that the newer xbox have celeron not pentium 3 processors in them is that true

the CPU in the xbox has never changed. People call it a celeron because it has less cache then a pentium but it really is just a pentium with les cache. It has all the same properties as a normal P3 only with less cache. If you goto friendtechs website they have a add-on that will allow you to put a 1.4GHz Celeron on it. And you can upgrade the memory from 64MBs to 128.

yeah i read that u can upgrade ur processor, but i read a book hacking the xbox and it said celeron so idk maybe im wrong

Ya its defiantly a P3. I dont think that MSFT would lie about what kind of chip they put in it. If they did i think that they would get sued way to badly.
